FEDERAL FINANCIAL AID ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for Federal Financial Aid a student must:

  1. Be enrolled as a regular student in an eligible program of study on at least a half-time basis for Federal student loans and be enrolled in at least one class for Federal Pell grants;

  2. Have a U.S. high school diploma or the equivalent;

  3. Be a U.S. citizen or national, or an eligible non-citizen.  Verification of eligible non-citizen status may be required;

  4. Have a valid Social Security Number;

  5. Have financial need (except for some loan programs) as determined by a need analysis system approved by the U.S. Department of Education;

  6. Provide required documentation for the verification process and determination of dependency status;

  7. Maintain satisfactory academic progress;

  8. Not have any Federal student loans in a defaulted status;

  9. Not have borrowed in excess of the annual aggregate loan limits for the Title IV financial aid programs;

  10. Be registered for the Selective Service, if required;

  11. Comply with any requests for additional documentation requested by the Financial Aid Office.
