Award of Increased Academic Merit Scholarships for the Summer and Fall 2020 Quarters

Dear Esteemed Students,


I hope all is well with you and your family.

I am pleased to announce that each of the Academic Merit Scholarships awarded to the existing students will be increased by five percent (5%) for each category for the Summer and Fall 2020 Quarters, in consideration of the financial difficulties encountered by the students due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. For this interim new policy, the Spring and Summer Quarter Grades will apply to determine the basis for the Academic Merit Scholarships for the Summer and Fall Quarters, respectively.

 

The current policy of the Academic Merit Scholarships (before this announcement) is as follows:

 

Award Criteria: 

For Graduate Students:

  1. GPA: 4.0 for 30% of the tuition.

  2. GPA: 3.8 for 20% of the tuition.

  3. GPA: 3.5 for 10% of the tuition.
     

For Undergrad Students:

  1. GPA: 4.0 for 30% of the tuition.

  2. GPA: 3.5 for 20% of the tuition

  3. GPA: 3.0 for 10% of the tuition
     

Note: GPA scores will be rounded.

 

The increased awards of scholarships for the Summer and Fall Quarters are as follows:

 

I. Summer Quarter Scholarships Award Criteria based on Spring Quarter Grades

For Graduate Students:

  1. GPA: 4.0 for 35% of the tuition.

  2. GPA: 3.8 for 25% of the tuition.

  3. GPA: 3.5 for 15% of the tuition.

For Undergrad Students:

  1. GPA: 4.0 for 35% of the tuition.

  2. GPA: 3.5 for 25% of the tuition

  3. GPA: 3.0 for 15% of the tuition

Note: GPA scores will be rounded.

 

II. Fall Quarter Scholarships Award Criteria based on Summer Quarter Grades

For Graduate Students:

  1. GPA: 4.0 for 35% of the tuition.

  2. GPA: 3.8 for 25% of the tuition.

  3. GPA: 3.5 for 15% of the tuition.
     

For Undergrad Students:

  1. GPA: 4.0 for 35% of the tuition.

  2. GPA: 3.5 for 25% of the tuition

  3. GPA: 3.0 for 15% of the tuition
    Note: GPA scores will be rounded.

 

In addition, the Registration Fees will be waived for All the existing students for the Summer and Fall Quarter registrations. The registration fees of those students who have already registered for the Summer Quarter will be either refunded or reduced from the total tuition of each student to be paid for the Summer Quarter.

 

 

It is imperative for each of you, the current IGU students to note that despite the fact that all the people around the world suffer from the crises caused by he COVID-19 Pandemic, you must win the current crises by enduring the hardships and working harder so that you can ultimately achieve your original educational goals set forth at IGlobal University. All of us, the IGU stakeholders, especially the IGU Staff and Faculty Members do our best to support each of you in all aspects so that you can achieve your most important milestone, namely graduating from IGU with your academic excellence and practical career training acquired, set forth for your lifetime vision.

Now that there is still one more week left for the Spring Quarter, you still have an opportunity to boost your final grades for the Spring Quarter in such a way that you will be able to benefit the increased scholarships for the Summer Quarter. For example, you may work extremely hard to excel in your upcoming final exams or reports.
